Perkfilter

Perkfilter

Remove and retain the toughest pollutants from storm water runoff coming from developed urban and suburban sites.

The Perkfilter is a stormwater media filtration system that removes and retains pollutants like total suspended solids (TSS), metals, nutrients, gross solids, trash, debris, and hydrocarbons from urban/suburban runoff. It utilizes proprietary filter media cartridges to target specific pollutants of concern and reduce the total downstream pollutant discharge load.

The Perkfilter delivers proven pollutant removal performance in a highly flexible and compact design. With multiple approved configurations, superior flow rates, and the ability to target site-specific pollutants, it provides a cost-effective solution for stormwater quality management on a variety of development projects.

Additional Information

How It Works

The Perkfilter system consists of:

  1. An inlet chamber for high-flow bypass and gross pollutant removal
  2. A treatment chamber containing the media-filled filter cartridges
  3. An outlet chamber for treated flow collection and discharge

During storms, runoff enters the inlet chamber. Flows up to the water quality treatment rate get filtered through the media cartridges, while higher flows bypass directly to the outlet. The filtered water collects in the outlet chamber before discharging.

Benefits

  • Flexible Configurations: Available as vaults, manholes, catch basins, or custom structures
  • High Treatment Capacity: Superior flow rates in a compact footprint
  • Proven Performance: Verified TSS and phosphorus removal by field/lab testing
  • Pretreatment Chamber: Extends media life by removing gross pollutants first
  • Modular Design: Simple cartridge construction allows efficient media replacement
  • Internal Bypass: Integrated high-flow bypass reduces construction costs

Specifications

  • Targets: TSS, metals, nutrients, gross solids, trash/debris, hydrocarbons
  • Verified high removal rates for TSS and phosphorus
  • Approved by WA Ecology, NJDEP, MDE, VA DEQ

Applications

  • Stormwater treatment for urban/suburban development runoff
  • Sites requiring removal of specific pollutants like TSS, nutrients, metals
